Over the past few years, there has been a massive surge in the adoption and use of bitcoin across the world. In Africa, even though internet penetration is low, the growth has been phenomenal with a 1200 per cent increase in crypto adoption between June 2020 and July 2021. In Africa, Nigeria is ranked first in the 2021 Global Crypto Adoption Index.

 

About AfroBitcoin Fellowship

The AfroBitcoin Fellowship is an initiative of the Ega Yeye Academy and the Africa Bitcoin Conference to identify and support African developer talents passionate about building solutions that improve access to bitcoin and increase bitcoin adoption in Africa.  The fellowship offers an 8-month mentoring by bitcoin industry experts, fully paid sponsorship to attend Africa Bitcoin Conference 2022 in Accra, Ghana and access to bitcoin developers’ community and resources for personal and professional development.
